o when they had come together, they asked
him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" He said to
them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons that
the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:6-8)
In the Book of Romans the Apostle Paul
wrote: For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the
same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For
"everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How then will they
call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him
of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone
preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written,
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" (Rom
10:12-15)
These verses clearly teach us that the Good News of what Christ has
accomplished is a message with no boundaries. It is for everyone, in every
place and at all times. It is the only message by which we may be saved.
Rockport understands these truths and is actively engaged in both local and
foreign missionary efforts. The work takes different forms but it all takes a
personal commitment of time, resources and prayer. As a Southern Baptist
Church, Rockport engages in missional efforts locally, joyfully contributes to
our association in Jefferson County and participates in the SBC's
Cooperative Program
which funds various state, national and international programs and over 10,000
missionaries, foreign and domestic. Below is a list of various people and

we pray and support both fiscally and sometimes physically via "hands-on"
participation in their ministries.
